Support for Jeffrey's calls to leave Sabah parties alone

RANAU :  State Reform Party's (Star) Sabah chairman, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has again repeated and reiterated his call for Malaya-based political parties especially the Pakatan Rakyat to consider focusing its aim at wresting all the 165 Parliamentary seats at stake in the 11-state Peninsular and to leave Sabah and Sarawak parties to stand in the rest 57 in both states and one in Labuan.

"We don't want to consider PR as our enemy but we plead to its leaders to consider the fact that they are already having the biggest share, 165 Parliamentary seats in Peninsular, why should they still come here and get our Sabah and Sarawak seats?

"Let Sabah and Sarawak political parties contest in the two states, and we will support you (PR or Barisan Nasional?) to get Putrajaya..." he said in his speech launching the Paginatan Star in Kampung Tagudon Baru near here yesterday.

While many in PR and BN surely are not very supportive of Dr Kitingan's argument, the more than 400 community leaders and opinion leaders who turned up at the function yesterday seemed to be all in agreement with him throughout his exactly one-hour long speech.

Kitingan singled out Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) in his plea when he said "if PKR wants to take Sabah and Sarawak seats, it would expose itself to the danger of being labelled as another Umno or even worse than Umno because it wants to take more seats than what Umno already has in Sabah".

Earlier, Star's Ranau division chief, Jalibin Paidi, in his speech also made similar remark when he said he personally support PR to take BN in the whole of Peninsular but not in Sabah.

"I think the people of Sabah also supported this idea, but why must they (PR) still want to wrest our seats in Sabah and Sarawak. It is not that we are against them but we do not want to be just another stepping stone for PR to wrest power in Putrajaya, and then forgotten.

"We are not satisfied being treated as mere 'assistant' for them to get into Putrajaya (seat of Federal government), we want to be the decider who should be the rightful government," he said adding that Star wants to raise the voice of left-behind Sabah and Sarawak to be heard and respected by an incoming Federal government.

Jalibin, a teacher who had just resigned from his post, is believed poised to be Star candidate, either in Keranaan state constituency or Ranau parliamentary seat.

Also giving speech yesterday was another teacher who had also just resigned, Feddrin Tuliang, who is slated to stand as Star candidate in the Paginatan state constituency.

Meanwhile, a local young "towkay" Kong Soon Choi, who hosted the function at the compound of his Sabindo businesses in Tagudon Baru, in his inspiring welcoming speech said he offered to help "not for himself but when he thought about the future of his own kids being treated as 'immigrants' in their own country, if he does not act and help now...'

Also in attendance were Sabah Star secretary, Guandee Kohoi, and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president Japiril Suhaimin.

    1. Bukan parti Malaya greedy ba.

    2. YES YES GO HOME MALAYANS!

      (A comment from Sarawak)
PERHAPS IT SAYS A LOT ABOUT PAKATAN’S “GREENHORN INTERLOPER” IMAGE.

DAP invaded Sarawak since the 1980s. Pakatan just arrived.

What do the Malayan parties’ leaders expect that Sarawakians will just vote for them like Baru Bian & Co?

We are Sarawakians and we should form our own parties to fight for Sarawak interest if not for its independence!

It is not being “parochial” as some “politically enlightened” people believe.

It is to defend our land, our soil, our country from the foreign Malayan rule and plunder.

Pakatan like UMNO wants to integrate Sabah and Sarawak more closely into the Malayan political framework. They want our resources more than we will ever need Malayans telling us what to do!

The Malayan parties have succeeded easily in capturing Sarawak minds whereas Sabahans have the good sense to be cautious of them and form their own parties to fight for Sabah.

It is a serious comment on our sanity to let Malayan parties take over our lives.

Are the Sarawak members of Pakatan DAP and PAS working for our Sarawak? Or they have to follow the party line and follow the peninsular plans of these parties?

    3. Parti-parti Malaya will not go away.

Both BN & PR will always consider us as just another "Negeri" and they think they can do whatever they want.

  4. Yong n Jeffrey are merely playing up the territorial sentiment by accusing peninsula parties as colonial master, cheater, robber etc.

But before you blame federal, look at our past n present local leaders - they are mostly corrupt to the core. Their greed have no limit.

We need leader like Tun mustapha n the past pairin to safeguard our state in interest. Sadly the current crop of leader even now pairin are only look at self interest.

Don't fool us into your Sabah for Sabahan only slogan as you are merely trying to fish vote for yourself.

    1. SEE ABOVE SARAWAK COMMENT-

Yes we were colonized- Sabah and Sarawak were annexed & Malayanised (not Bornoenized.

Don't try to cover this up!

You guys may have doubts about the politicians' sincerity- but what they say is true. We in Sarawak agree with them!

(Here is a comment made in relation to Bersih3)

WHAT RETROGRESSION- WE WERE NEVER OUT OF THE FOUL DUNGEON OF FEUDAL UMNO COLONIAL OPPRESSION!

“It was retrogression in democracy and was not good for the government’s reforms”

This statement is made in ignorance of the 54 dark corrupt years of UMNO rule of Malaya and 48 years colonization of Sabah and Sarawak!

Did we ever get out of this truly dark period of our history? Not yet.

We seem to sink even further and further into gloom as UMNO allows Taib PBB BN to rob more NCR land owners and engage in more “development” of the Taib and Dirty Datos financial empires!

This parasitic relationship allows UMNO to strengthen its colonial control of Sabah and Sarawak while it rips off our oil resources.

Voting may possibly get rid of the UMNO government.

But does it free us from Malayan colonization?

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

      DOES IT?

      SABAH 4 SABAHANS

      SARAWAK 4 SARAWAKIANS

      MALAYANS GO HOME!

  6. Problem is both Yong n jeff are veteran where both have been Sabah leader in various capacity. They were just like the current corrupt leaders. I don't see how different they are with pairin musa etc. it was BN that makes federal parties looks bad. If BN & local leaders are equally bad, we got nothing to lose giving PR a chance. Hope u guys see the point.

    1. When Yong was cm he didn't pursue what he preaching now. For me they are merely a bunch of greedy n opportunist politician trying to fish for votes by portraying themselves as state hero that stand up to federalisation. That is why they label federal parties as robbers, colonial master etc. the reality is that it was they who are colluding with BN to rape Sabahan of their wealth n progress. Give pr a chance to prove their worth just like Penang n selangor have done. Lim guan eng is not a penangite but he still rule penang well. If indeed pr is just like BN vote them out in GE14.

Mereka tahu PR tiada pilihan lain selain bekerjasama dengan mereka untuk mengelakkan unti pecah!! Inikan ugutan si jefferey ketika berbincang dengan PR. Belum menang pun dah sombong.
