It's population engineering by KL, claims SAPP

KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) deputy president Amde Sidek said the Federal Government's idea of allowing the Rohingyas to come into the country is part of a plan to increase the number of "Malays" in the country.

"Anyone could guess the end game. I call this part of the population engineering to increase the number of Malays. The Rohingyas being Muslims could easily meet the criteria to be Malays," he said in a statement.

He (right) stressed that Sabahans have a legitimate right to be wary of the move, having themselves seen the impact of the influx of foreigners into the state.

He lamented that in the case of Sabah, the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry on illegal immigrants have not been disclosed to the public even until now.

"In my view, if the government is so concerned about humanitarian issue, the selection to invite problematic people  to this country should not be based on religion," he said.

He warned that the presence of large number of Rohingyas who have experienced harsh, tough and rough environment in the midst of the timid Malaysian society is becoming a public concern.
